it is possible you are insane, but i suspect it is just dishonesty. ok, i get it, you are crazy. good luck with that. appeals to god are moronic. that isnt what you said i was calling moronic when you were misrepresenting me. believing "a god" of indeterminate description exists, like you said earlier, is a hell of a lot different than believing in a god who listens to prayers transmitted by human brains and actually cares enough to respond. soooo different. yes of course! no question about it. i am quite confident i would dominate you like i was arguing with a small stupid child. ok, how about lets put that quote back in context. i was not referring to generic "theism" which we should probably define before i can call specific parts of it idiotic, so here is my real quote from another thread that you are using: as you can see, as i said before, i am referring to a specific religion and the beliefs that come with it. that is stupid. i am not calling out a simple belief in "a god" of no description, which for all i know might be defined by the believer as the big bang or literally anything with no qualities at all for me to dispute. if you say "the universe exists, and therefore i think something may have created it, and maybe it was god", i have no quarrel with people believing that. my criticisms are quite obviously of the specifics of religions and stupid things like believng for sure that prayer is useful. so you are being quite dishonest with your portrayals of my opinions. but thats just the way you do things, i expect it. if you enjoy lying, be my guest. we can agree there.
Spin, boy, spin... 50% of your post was nothing but ad hominem, and the remaining 50% was lame, spinning denial.
haha. yes i think i win also. i wish you luck next time. be more honest and maybe you can present me a challenge. well, probably not. consider your bluff called, chump.
What I see is that you suffer from "got to have the last word" syndrome... You won nothing. You want to pretend that believing in the omnipotent God (capitalized) to which I referred can be OK while appealing to such an entity is moronic. Well, not only does that demonstrate you don't know the meaning of the word "moronic", it also exposes your immature cognitive discordance. Now, go ahead and have the last word. I know you have to. But please stop the childish, poorly constructed rants against religion. You give us intelligent non-believers a bad name.
Nothing in the records prove that he was AWOL or a deserter. Nothing. Missing a few meetings, drills in the last months of service does not make you AWOL. He spent 5 and a half years accumulating more hours than needed. He showed up in Alabama, and there is proof he showed up. He has never lied about not showing up for the physical. There were no planes for him to fly, and he was about to get out. He slacked off his last few months, it didn't harm anyone. They had more than enough pilots, and not enough planes. The RNC talking point is says it all. Why would he get an Honorable Discharge, if he didn't serve honorably? He has lied about nothing. The records show he has lied about nothing. This horse died in '94, again in '98, in '00, and more than a few times this last year, it's time to let it go. It's all a moot point anyway. Bush doesn't think he is qualified to be President just because he was in the National Guard. Since you and the rest of the Democrats are so obsessed with military records maybe y'all should get Kerry to release all of his.
where did i say "omnipotent"? all i do is repeat over and over that any specific qualities attributed to this "god" make it more and more stupid to believe in it, because nobody knows anything. you are so quick to make up stuff. you are incredibly dishonest. you should use my actual words. in fact, you might even try to use quotes. i would love it if you quoted me instead of making things up and pretending i said them. when are you gonna follow through and actually do it? you asked me if i wanted you to cut and paste and my answer is definitely yes. you are just gonna have to learn not to put words in other's mouths if you want to have a chance at actually arguing against their positions.
ashgeaux, please.... Bush didn't just "miss a few meetings". He missed ALL of his Alabama 187th assignment. Nobody in Alabama has come forward to say he was there, and several have said that if he was they would surely have remembered it. And you swallowed the Bush lie that he skipped the physical because there were no planes for him to fly. His type of plane was still being flown 3 years after his discharge, and his commanders say they certainly would have found much for Bush to do if he were actually there. And this is REALLY naive: "The RNC talking point is says it all. Why would he get an Honorable Discharge, if he didn't serve honorably?" BECAUSE HE GOT SPECIAL TREATMENT. That's the entire point. He received special treatment to get in, and he received special treatment to get out. I'm out.
He did show up in Alabama and at least one person has come forward saying he was there. The man that originally said he "never saw him" has since come out and said the media has twisted his words. He claims thst just b/c he doesn't remember seeing him doesn't mean he wasn't there. The records show he attended enough drills in Alabama to reach the requirement for that year. His teeth were at the base in Alabama at least one day. He got paid. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the "Bush lie" about the planes didn't come from Bush. It came from someone at the National Guard. I think it was someone from his base at Texas who told Bush that the AL base had to many pilots already. Anyway, I didn't say the plane didn't exist. I said they didn't have enough. Of course they would have found something for him to do, I'm not saying they wouldn't. My point and problem is that people are calling him a liar, AWOL, etc. when the records show he fufilled his duty. There is no proof he got "special treatment" when he entered nor left the National Guard. Ben Barnes is lying. He wasn't even Lt. Governor when Bush entered the NG, he has even said under oath that no member of the Bush family ever contacted him about getting Bush in the Guard. It's always naive to believe any RNC/DNC talking point on first glance, which is why I even mentioned it was the WH and RNC reply to the accusations. It makes sense to me, he served honorably in the Guard why wouldn't they let him out. He couldn't fly and he wanted to go to grad school.
To elaborate on his requirements: He fulfilled his obligation of 50 points in his 5th and 6th year, the years in question. He did them in long spurts I think it was a 3 months in the 5th year and then when his 6th year started in May of '73 (?) he got his 50 points in June and July. He then requested to leave. He was given an honorable discharge. There is no reason he wouldn't receive an honorable discharge, he didn't need any help. He couldn't fly, which is what he was trained to do, and there was no reason for him to be there after he finished his 50 points. He finished his requirements for 6 years. IT'S IN THE RECORDS. The media and Democrats harping on the long string of months he didn't do anything is not relevant, because he reached the requirements. It's obvious he slacked off in the last year and few months, but it doesn't change the fact that he fulfilled his duties. Thus the people calling him a liar, AWOL, deserter, either are in denial or are lying themselves.
