Paris police said there were no deaths so far and the origin of the fire was unknown. French media quoted the Paris fire brigade saving the fire is "potentially linked" to a 6 million-euro ($6.8 million) renovation project on the church's spire and its 250 tons of lead, I think that's the probable cause,.. there's this,.. The fire broke out at 6:50 p.m. local time on Monday, the start of Catholic Holy Week
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...lised-by-isis-behind-failed-notre-dame-attack A cell of radicalised French women guided by Islamic State commanders in Syria was behind a failed terrorist attack near Paris’s Notre Dame Cathedral last weekend and planned another violent attack this week before they were intercepted by police, the Paris prosecutor has said. They tried it previously, just like the world trade center... so I ain't ruling it out yet... even though a construction fire seems to be the simple answer.
What a tragic loss. It was a truly awe-inspiring place, inside and out. Once saw a filthy bum walk up to a side door, whip it out, and start pissing on the door. Me and my wife were having coffee across the street. I remember shouting "Hey!" . He barely turned his head and shouted back "degage !" i think and finished pissing.
The really tragic thing is that, while its likely the money will be produced to rebuild it, the artisanship needed simply doesn't exist anymore. 200 years to build, lost in a few hours.
Someone pointed out the following about April 15 The day Lincoln died The day the Titanic sunk The day Notre Dame burned
