I think the ugly looks of John Kerry were a big part of the reason we got stuck with GW Bush as President over the last 4 years. But I do agree that John Kerry and Caroline Kennedy look very similar. FYI, other traits that John Kerry and Caroline Kennedy share: They are both Democrats They are both Catholic They are both attorneys They both have strong ties to Boston, MA, where both John Kerry and Caroline Kennedy went to school. Caroline went to Harvard, like her father John and her grandfather Joseph (her great grandfather went to the Jesuit University in Boston--Boston College--and her great-great grandfather was an Irishman that immigrated to Boston when he was in his late 20's). Currently, Ted Kennedy is the Senior US Senator from Massachusetts (46 years now) and John Kerry is the Junior US Senator from Massachusetts (23 years now). If Caroline doesn't get the New York Senate seat, I don't think it would be hard for her to get Ted Kennedy's seat when Ted Kennedy is done.
The Dude is right, Red. It's as though you have anointed yourself the defender of all things liberal at TF. Relax. The problem with Caroline is that she has done nothing to earn a seat in the U.S. Senate. The fact that she is a flaming liberal affects only who is going to complain about it. But facts are facts.
The Clintons should have sent her to a good law school like the Kennedys did with Caroline. Heck, both Bill and Hillary met in law school. Chelsea graduated Stanford undergrad in 2001, and it appears she is done with school. Like Caroline Kennedy and Barbara Pierce Bush, she went to go live in New York, NY.
As usual you are incorrect John. At least half my family is liberal and I am a registered democrat. If you bothered to actually read and try to comprehend, instead of making idiotic statements about other posters, you might have tumbled upon this without it being explained to you. At no time have I objected to her politics. I fully expect a liberal to be appointed to that seat and would be shocked otherwise. Democrats have every right to appoint someone with similar politics to the previously elected senator. That is a fair representation to the people. My objection is to her lack of qualifications. I also stated that an unqualified celebrity conservative appointment would be wrong. If you choose to point out other "celebrity" politicians as red has done, try to find one that didn't stand before the people, was judged, and got elected. On that basis, Caroline is a joke. Everything else you have said is merely a distraction and in no way contradicts this. In this case, New York and all it's morons are getting exactly what they deserve. But she also serves the entire country as a U.S senator, and in that respect we are being horribly short changed.
