Some people here don't mind those folks because they're not liberal democrats. That's why they're complaining. It's not that she's unqualified, it's that they don't agree with her politics.
That, and they are scared of her. She's a powerful woman that is more than qualified to be a US Senator: Harvard undergrad, Columbia law school, passed the bar exam (member of both the New York and District of Columbia bar), written two legal texts -- In Our Defense: The Bill of Rights In Action and The Right to Privacy, a four-time New York Times Best Selling author (Profiles in Courage for Our Time, A Patriot’s Handbook, and two poetry books). She has also written numerous articles that have been published in newspapers and magazines such as the New York Times and Rolling Stone magazine. Currently serves as President of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation where she supervises an executive staff of 23 people (including the CFO, Director of Marketing and Sales, etc). The Library and Museum is housed in a building that cost $20.8 million to build. The Foundation also gives out the Profile in Courage Award, which went to John McCain in 1999. Currently serves as one of the Board of Directors of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. -- this prestigeous entity and its attorneys have been responsible for winning numerous civil rights cases (most famous being the landmark Brown vs. Board of Education) and is responsible for turning out attorneys such as Thurgood Marshall (first black US Supreme Court Justice). Currently serves as one of ten Board of Directors (Vice Chair) of the Fund for Public Schools, which has been responsible for raising $230 million for New York City's public schools. Currently serves as one of nine Board of Directors of the non-profit, 501(c)(3) entity, Commission on Presidential Debates. Currently serves as honorary chairman of the board of the American Ballet Theatre. On top of all that, she is a wife and a mother of three children (that's more children than most people have). I said she worked at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I did not know in what capacity. Prior to that she interned at the New York Daily News. She is an attorney who has never practiced law. She has written four books. One on the constitution which she co-wrote. Chapter two of that book was on the second amendment, and tried unsuccessfully to convince the reader that no one is entitled to own a gun. The second book was a collection of poems from her mother; a cut and paste job. The third book was a collection of poems from the Kennedy family; another cut and paste job. And the fourth book was entitled A Family Christmas. I have no clue what that was about. I have never claimed she was a media hound of the likes of Paris Hilton. I absolutely agree with you that she has avoided the kind of celebrity status similar to that of Hilton. But, for the best part of her life she has never had a real job. Whatever roles she undertook was due largely to the fact that she is a Kennedy. If she had ever had some real responsibilities, I would be far less cynical about her candidacy. I think the biggest problem I have with her is the entitlement mentality the Kennedys seem to be born with.
Scared of her? Not hardly. Powerful? You have got to be kidding. Serving on a board is not a profession, nor is public speaking or handing out awards. Diplomat? Give me a break.
It would be great for the Dems if they got her in the Senate. That's what you are scared of. Relax, the GOP has rising stars in its party as well. The sky is not falling for the GOP.
Who are you trying to convince? Yourself? You sound like Bill arguing over the meaning of the word "is".:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
