no and never wrote anything like it. but there certainly is a huge difference between stealing/sharing/copying a file and stealing a tangible good. but they are both stealing. my problem with them is that they cant catch the criminals easy enough, so they just make everything illegal. then selectively prosecute.
That's the way it is with any crime. Sometimes you get caught stealing and sometimes you don't . . . but you're still a thief.
no, you miss my point. what they are doing is like making guns illegal instead of making just making shooting someone illegal. if they pass a law tommorrow making ownership of a shotgun illegal, i guess id be a criminal technically, but i wouldnt consider myself one.
now radiohead has the right idea. theyre making their new album available for download for the price of whatever you want to pay. no record label involved and theyll probably make more $. http://www.forbes.com/technology/20...cy-tech-internet-cx_ag_1016techradiohead.html
What criminal considers himself one? I fail to understand folks who think that stealing physical property is a crime but stealing intellectual property is somehow OK.
i dont think stealing intellectual property is ok, but i dont think making a copy of a cd i bought is stealing, unless i sell it.
Or unless you make copies for someone else. This deprives the artist of the opportunity to sell a CD to that person. I make copies of music on my computer, on my ipod, and for my truck, but it's music that I own legally and I do not share it online.
