But it gives them control over it and the ability to evade taxes. They can keep money in investments and let it make fabulous fortunes, as long as they keep spending low. The middle class has to buy the same amounts of food, gas, and other vital needs and doesn't get this option of allowing large fortunes turn into vast untaxed fortunes simply because the very rich can live very well on a tiny fraction of their income. Any time you see someone wanting to change taxes from income to sales they are either very rich or a tool (usually unwitingly) of the very rich.
so we shouldn't have control over our $$$???? to what extent should we have/not have over our income/$$$?
That's the 2 tax brackets? Rich and scraping by? Obama tagging $250k as "the rich" is preposterous, and also considering how many small business owners are set up as individuals, it is maniacal to think it won't hurt job growth. McCain exaggerates the numbers, but it's still a significant # of small business owners. Sorry, I just don't think 200k for individuals, and 250k for a couple is rich. Everyone keeps throwing this "only tax the rich" crap around, as if they are only talking about multi-millionaires. When you are talking about biting into investments, new business, jobs, and charity, who do you think is gonna get hurt? Bill Gates or a mid level exec at IBM who was thinking of starting a side business? Those are the people who will get bitten, not the actual "rich". But liberals would have you believe they are no different. It's classic class warfare.
I can't wait until I think 200k is not rich. The bottom line is the cost of living has gone up, so 200k isn't what it once was. I don't think Obama is going to be taking much more out of their pockets. In comparison, 100k isn't what it once was, and the further down you go, the more money is spent on necessities. You talk about class warfare while those at the bottom or that have the bottom rising to swallow them are taking the hits while many at the top are just starting to feel a little pain. You talk about class warfare when my money and our children's future is being spent to cover for theft at the highest level. I'm a Ron Paul supporter, so I'm not against shrinking the federal government and taxes, but I don't see that happening with McCain. I'd rather see 95% of America benefit if the choice is between Obama and McCain. The argument that taxing the rich more is better for America under the Republicans doesn't seem to hold water when we've had 8 years of that already.
You've bought into lipservice paid by Republicans. Republicans want $700+ billion of our money to take care of fck ups or deceptions by people richer than us.
