Right, so whatever this fee is, does anyone know what the fee is? It just stinks to me. If you buy the freaking CD or you pay for the subscription to whatever service the artist is getting his/her royalty. They aren't being cheated. No one is stealing from them. There shouldn't be any more paid to them. Who goes to a club, bar, salon, any other type of place because of the playlist? No, they go for the crowd, the atmosphere, the drink specials, the food. The music is background noise and accounts for a tenth of a percent of the profit. It is complete and utter bullshit.
Now you've done it. @red55 will be along shortly to call you a thief. The thing now though, is if it's still illegal then why can you download a free music downloading app from the Google Play Store. Is Google violating any laws by making it available?
No, because they pay the damn royalty and you aren't allowed to file share it, the music that you download from amazon or pandora or spotify you pay for but you cannot share. That doesn't mean you can't play it loud at a party or on a boat or in a freaking bar or restaurant. You bought it, you paid for it, it is yours, the artist has already made his money from the record label and again from whatever medium you used to purchase the music. This is retarded. If you buy a suit from some high class suit maker, I don't own a suit so I don't know any of the names, do you have to pay him a freaking royalty every time you wear the stupid suit? Of course not. You already paid him for it.
I'm not talking about pandora or spotify. There are just plain apps that must connect to some free filesharing server somewhere that you can use to download almost any song you want without anybody paying a penny.
Yes but their reliability is shaky at best and they will fill your phone with all sort of unwanted apps and stupid adds. Music maniac used to be pretty good but I think the industry has gotten wise to them and now it no longer works worth a crap.
You can download a YouTube downloader and download all kinds of songs off YouTube and videos as well, then just convert them.
I have one on my old phone that worked ok a few months ago. I forget the name of it. Not long ago my brother's wife asked me if you could download from youtube. I told her that there are youtube video downloaders but she didn't want the video, just the audio. It took me about 3 seconds to find a free youtube mp3 downloader that just downloads the audio. Here is one: http://download.cnet.com/YouTube-Music-Downloader/3000-2071_4-75409715.html There are others. I haven't tried them yet so I don't know which one might be the best. If the format is mp3 its easy to transfer the files to your phone or tablet too.
