Dear ole Dad's church would have been fixed before if that were the case. Everything is falling into place. 1.) Cam stole laptop. 2.) Cam was cheating at Florida and was about to get suspended or kicked off the team. 3.) Instead of taking his punishment, makes up a story that he doesn't want to sit behind Tebow and goes to another school. 4.) Verbally commits to MSU because he likes the coach from his UF days. 5.) Daddy wants some money, probably get the 3rd party to act in place of. 6.) Gets a cash offer from someone associated with Auburn.* 7.) Tells MSU the money at AU is too good. 8.) Gets called out on cheating at UF and does not deny it at all and matter of fact looked like he is quite guilty. 9.) Dear ole Dad no longer denying anything really, matter of fact, sounds like he is just ready for the punishment and have Cam enter the draft. Right now it looks like AU is holding the bag and they better cut ties like yesterday. Although #6 has not necessarily been proven, I think there is enough for AU to consider they are now holding the bag.
Don't know, but he is one of the voters according to what they were saying on Mike and Mike Show this morning.
LSU situation last year comes to mind. Auburn has to get this under control, this ain't going away because most probably it's all true. LSU got it under control with Ryan P. and Hicks.
I apologize for this being a bit long, but I'm sick and tired of hearing people say "well, I'm not going to be mad at the kid" or "it was just the mistakes kids make" or "cheating and stealing has nothing to do with the other issues" or "well, he was under alot of pressure" First off. All of these things have something to do with one another. Credibility, honesty, integrity. He is obviously a bad person..........and you can say he was just "stupid" all day long, but don't tell me he's so stupid he doesn't know right from wrong. Stealing, plagiarism, cheating, and possibly bribery/extortion.........these things are wrong. We know that. HE knew that, and CHOSE to do them anyway. That makes him a scumbag. Secondly, I'm sick of people going easy on these "kids" because they think its all just "youthful indiscretions". These are not kids. They are 18-24 year old GROWN MEN. Somehow society seems to think that the age of getting a free pass for stupidity should continue climbing higher and higher. When I was Cam Newton's age, I was a member of a Special Forces unit, responsible for not only myself, but others, in combat situations. Decisions that I made affected whether lives were saved or lost. In fact, choices on my part, especially if I made very poor choices, could have not only affected me and those close to me, but could have even led to major international incidents, which in truth, could have affected hundreds, thousands, maybe even millions of people........and yet little Cam Newton just isn't responsible for the bad decisions he makes. Bull****. I've met thousands of 18 year old grown men who have families, wives and children, and friends, and they make mature and intelligent decisions every day, decisions that affect them and many others. So, saying these so-called "kids" can't do it is just beyond my comprehension. They can vote, they can drink, they can fight in war, they can be tried as an adult for a crime, they can get married and have children, they can drive a car, they can get a job where other people's lives are in their hands every day...............but yet somehow they are children who aren't capable of being held responsible for their own choices, especially those which will have major effect upon others? Is that right?
The way I understand it is the NCAA has been investigating this for a while. It was just leaked to the media recently and now they are digging and bringing all this stuff to light. Any way you slice it this will not end well for Auburn. At the least it is a huge distraction at I time when the need to most focused. At worse it could be devastating sanctions that cripple the program for years. Personally I think it gets much worse before it gets better for Auburn.
Please watch the 30 for 30 on Marcus Dupree. You have no idea what kind of pressure these kids are under, and how 50 different people are in there ear at all times telling them what to do, how to do it, and what's best for their lives. Should he be punished if he did wrong, yes, no one is disputing that, but don't try to say he is scumbag or he is a terrible person because you don't know him.
I don't care how many people are in his ear. You either have integrity or you don't. That's usually instilled by your parents, but clearly that influence was not there for him, considering his dad appears to be just as guilty as he is here. He knows he's not supposed to steal other students papers. He knows he's not supposed to solicit under the table money from schools. The problem is he doesn't care.
