I'm not looking for kudos in any way, I just find it extremely interesting that there are 3 of us hearing a similar story. If my source is wrong then they are, I'm just sharing what I've heard. I had been hinting towards this all week but kept what I had heard to myself, because I don't like spreading rumors. Once someone else had spilled the beans I was kinda in shock that what I'd heard might be true, so I decided to share. That is all.

No, I get that. I realize you are just sharing info and not for the kudos :) Until something formally happens, it's just hard to piece together what is factual or not.

So, the SEC allowed commercials to be run today during their broadcast about Auburn being in the SEC title game, but next week their going to drop the hammer??

    Yeah, OK...

CBS ran the promos, not the SEC.

And the SEC allowed them to be run.

You don't think it would be a little embarrassing for the SEC to have this information, but hold off until we can see Newton having his Heisman moment in the Iron Bowl, all so they can wait, for some unknown reason, until Monday to drop the hammer?? Oh, and let's let CBS run some promos with Newton's picture all over it.

The thought of a major conference doing that is so beyond the realm of possibility that it's not even funny.

Newton probably will eventually be declared ineligible, but I would be absolutely shocked if it happened right now.

Of course I WANT it to be true, at least I do if there's really anything there. But I gotta say, I'm with those that are saying "yeah right". I'll believe it when I see it.

I find it difficult to believe anything happens this week to affect our team and our standing or NCG implications. I just don't see us playing in the SECCG next week. If we do I'll see ya'll in Atlanta. I just think reality says it doesn't happen.

I saw the Iron Bowl at the brew pub with a former Alabama assistant coach (under Curry, Stallings, Debose, Shula) who's a friend of mine and we were talking about the rumors.

He hadn't heard them, but made these points:

    Absolutely, Cam got paid.
This is VERY widespread and goes on all over.
He can't believe the NCAA would act this fast.
If the NCAA sits on it till after the championship, it's a great injustice to LSU (providing we beat Arky).

He also said that he's from Colorado and the Miles to Boulder rumors are fast and furious up there...Miles recently said that he was the happiest at Colorado. But there's NO way Miles goes there because it's such a step down...The people up there don't care about Colorado football....only the broncos. He also said that Harbaugh is Michigan's man and to watch out when Harbaugh goes to Michigan because what he did at Stanford was incredible. Stanford's emphasis on football is worse than Colorado's.

"So we better get ready to get screwed by the NCAA?", I asked

    He said "Yep."
