Because the NCAA takes time to investigate, the NCAA just in 2010 came down for Reggie Bush stuff in what 2003-2005. The NCAA was notified in January on this, it would probably be on the back burner if it were not for the fact of BCS championship is involved and the Heisman. If he were just Joe playing for some BFE school that has no chance for a NC this would probably be nothing going on in this until the off season at the earliest.
no it doesn't justify it, but I am not going to slay a kid for some dumb crap he did while at Florida. Hell, that's probably a commonplace there.
If his dad f'd up, he better come out clean sooner than later to avoid more damage to his son's career.
At first, it sounded like it was just a Mississippi State problem and a Florida problem but now Auburn is in it. The source said that Cam said his Dad picked Auburn because the money was too great. Wouldn't this affect his eligibility and their (AU) whole season?
The problem is the kid has no credibility. Not only did he do those things, but then he lied about why he left Florida. I am not going to hang the kid, but at the end of the day Auburn has to cut ties very soon or they are going to get the hammer. The problem is Cam is digging the hole deeper and deeper, Auburn has to decide if they are going down the hole with him. I am sure the Auburn's coach was being honest last week, they knew about the investigation a long long time ago, but what happened is Cam said he didn't have anything to do with it, which will probably eventually come out as a lie. LSU has been here done that ie Ryan P. Yes, but it depends when the investigation is completed or if Auburn takes it's own action. The NCAA is probably going the fast route on this due to the BCS and Heisman issues.
It is what it is, i'm not going to attack a kid's off the field issues. Especially after watching that ESPN 30 for 30 last night on Marcus Dupree. That is something everyone should watch, because it helps people who weren't in situations like that understand how much pressure is on these kids. I will be critical of their play on the field, to an extent, but not off the field stuff anymore, pros are fair game.
I kind of agree with you, I can't fault a kid for taking money but at the end of the day if you destroy your own word, well good luck trying to convince anyone of anything. The NCAA is going to come down hard on Auburn unless they start cooperating, and yes Cam and father are part of Auburn, that is the way it is. It's not going to end well for Auburn, sooner they realize the better for their program, they have some real good players, I don't know why you want to further inflict damage on your program. I would say at this point, not many people are going to trust what Cam has to say.
