what does this mean? "unidentified source told ESPN that another recruiter received a phone call from an emotional Cam Newton after he committed to the Tigers, when he said his father selected Auburn for him because "the money was too much." Probably too late for that. AU has no choice but to stick behind him at this point in the season. Bite the bullet and hope nothing comes of it during or after their possible NC run.
I find it interesting that the Barner posters have suddenly disappeared from defending Cam Cam at all costs.
Not going to be good for them long-term if they continue to deny. Cam is just like Ryan Perrilloux, there is nothing but misery for Auburn as long as they continue with him. Their choice, the NCAA is going to come down on them hard if they continue this. It sounds like Cam and father are no longer cooperating, they are part of Auburn whether Auburn likes it or not. At this point, the Heisman and the SEC CS and BCS CS are going to look like a bizarre roadshow. For the record, I really can't fault the kid for taking money but if you get caught it's not going to be pretty. If it were say LSU and Ryan in this situation, I would probably at least bench Ryan at this point. There is only so far you can support a kid and parents that continue to shoot themselves in the foot.
