Read that Georgia has gotten a ton of action at +8.5, and the game is now being pulled off the boards.
Timeline clarification from MSU, posted on ESPN 20 minutes ago: Mississippi State contacted SEC office - SEC Blog - ESPN
Because if I was a college president, and the SC office had information that a big name recruit was looking for money, and I wasn't informed so I could take precautions, the SEC would have a new commissioner in less than 24 hours.
This thing is taking on a life of it's own, and growing really quickly. At this pace there could be some ramifications before the end of the season. Not sure if it is good or bad at how quickly this all keeps coming out. But then again the accusations on Bush came out pretty quickly as well, it just took 4 yrs to prove anything. No matter what, we will see how well AU and Cam can keep it together. These kinds of distractions can derail a season pretty quickly.
Mississippi State confirms it notified SEC about Cam Newton issues - CFB News - FOX Sports on MSN Some numbers being reported: 200K being offered by other schools. But they only wanted 180K from Miss State. :rolleye33:
And I agree with multiple prior posts: 1) Lack of denial sure makes one look guilty 2) Auburn has to play him like they are doing nothing wrong 3) This issue likely won't be resolved until after the season but there sure is a lot of info and rumors spreading fast. Perhaps this could be expedited before the SEC championship, but unlikely.
Very interesting. If the FBI is getting involved, you've really got to think there is more to this story that some people with a grudge trying to smear and innocent "kid" and his father. Some good points made on the Coach34sports site: One thing he said that struck me, and it may be totally false, but he said......Do you really think a 2nd rate loser coach with a 5-19 record coming in from Iowa State has the charisma and ability to pull in a top-3 recruiting class without cheating? Apparently they are also now claiming that there are confiscated taped conversations of Cam Newton, his father, or others involved in the payment, confirming the pay-for-play. There's apparently ALOT of rumor going around that Cam will be benched on Saturday against Georgia. I've seen it on every site I've looked at..........alongside video of Chizik saying that he'll definitely play. Another post: Rumor-mill spinning that Trooper Taylor about to be tied to agents By Coach34 on Nov 10, 2010 | In Announcements | 1 feedback ยป Per info obtained from the New York Times. This reportedly is going to be announced tonight....maybe his towel-waving ass will be suspended Saturday also...this is starting to look like a slow death for Auburn and it's fans. Coach34sports.com Just my opinion............Auburn's done. Cam and his dad are guilty and someone from Auburn is, too. I mean, does it really surprise anyone. They felt shunned and left out in 2004 when there is NO DOUBT they should have been in the Title game. LSU has been on the rise and won 2 National Championships. Florida has also won 2. Arkansas and Miss State are getting better along with teams in the East. Then, they've got Saban in their own state bringing Bama forth out of the depths of mediocrity to win a National Championship and suddenly Bama becomes a force who will stomp Auburn for years to come...........and what has Auburn got? A cut rate, secondhand, coach with a 5-19 record from a crappy school, in the wussy Big-12 North, who can't coach or recruit, and looks to be smacked around and told to go get his shinebox by Meyer, Saban, and Miles for years to come. They were desperate and its going to catch up to them and now they're going to be worse off for years to come.
Dancin'Outlaw wrote:There will be a WINDFALL of information coming out about sCam Newton this weekend/early next week that will make your jaw drop. 3 sec schools (MSU, AU and UT) were in fact in a bidding war for sCam. With AU winning out. Trouble is, the money was funneled through Cecils churches (non-profit org, thus no reported record of it) HOWEVER, the NCAA has found some sort of trail or a witness and is about to drop the proverbial hammer!!!! Brace yourself aubies, this one's gonna leave a mark. If facts back this up it will make the SEC look very dirty!:tigereye:
