I would guess that if Auburn suspects anything, they would be better served by sitting Newton. The NCAA would come down pretty hard on Auburn if it was discovered they knew Newton was guilty and still played him.
What if Auburn knows they are going to sit him, and decide they won't reveal that information until right before the game? That would be pretty slick.
Somehow Vegas has a way of finding out about these things. Check the odds, if they suddenly change you know something is up.
I disagree. I think they're in too deep. I would play him even if i found out at this point it happened. Now if they knew before the season, then they are morons.
I think they would be crazy to sacrifice the next 3-5 years for a possible championship that will be revoked if the allegations are true. Remember SMU!
Auburn should be cooperating as much as possible. If this were LSU I would sure hope they would pull the player. At this point, Auburn should go from denial to cooperation to save itself.
I'm not hoping either way, just if he should be ineligible, I hope they do it before the SEC championship game so maybe we can go instead of Auburn...that really is the only way we'd get into the BCS championship (barring a last week lose fest like in 2007). Hell, I'd just just be happy with the extra game. But the way these investigations go, he'll be gone to the NFL before anything is decided.
