That is absolutely true. Marriage is a social institution for a social end. That end is the nurturing and raising of children. The underlying principle is that only a male and female can naturally produce children. Gay marrige changes the definition of marriage by making it a personal institution for a personal end. It makes the end of marriage about the well-being of adults rather than children. That's why gay marriage threatens the very institution of marriage; because the purpose and goal of marriage is the raising of children. If we remove children from the equation, we remove the very raison d'etre for marriage.
So if the was a rule saying that if gays were to get married it would have to also include adobting a child to raise that would be ok?
No. You missed what I said. The underlying principle is that only male and female can naturally produce a child. The fact that a gay couple can adopt or a lesbian can have a child through vitro fertilization does not negate the basic principle that only a male and a female can naturally produce a child.
And this is where the pick and choose comes in that I referred to. Some Christian groups do sanction it..
And they are far outside the will of God in doing so. Scripture is very clear on what can and cannot be sanctioned.
