Jason Campbell is the bottom of the barrell in the SEC QB's. Caddy if you are going to quote me, go ahead and link all of what was said in your quote. Let me clear it up for you. I said he would be miles ahead, instead he is ahead by a few miles. I see you left off the part where I said MR is much more of a run threat as well.

Well if you're going to quote it as a "stat," at least get your facts straight. It was 8-5.

Cadillacattack is a good guy. Let's cut him some slack. I don't necessarily agree with him but he's an Auburn Fan and has a right to be positive and optimistic about his team.

Cadilliac Williams runs on all 8 cylinders, against everyone but our almighty tigers! Against the tigers, he performs like a Ugo 4 cylinder with 2 cylinders missing! But with jason cambell at the helm, he will be mediocre at best. remember when the aint's had ricky williams, opposing defenses put 8 or 9 in the box. They shut the run down, daring you to throw against them! Until the "War Beagles" get a half ass Qb, they will mirror the aint's w/ ricky williams 2 yards and a cloud of dust! To all you "Baubie Doll Fans", You've smoked your last Cigar after a LSU Tiger game, for a long time to come!! Later, "TONY THE TIGER"

Thanks fellas. I was just merely trying to point out that JC suffers from the same anemia that Cadillac Williams does - weak offensive line production. It's been very difficult for AU's offense to develop any consistency- running or passing - because of the constant changes. As you saw with LSU's O-line this season, they became better as a unit as the season progressed. A luxury AU didn't have.

AU had no depth - zero. They basically played the same five guys, all game, every game which will get you beat against a good D like LSU's or UGA's. Furthermore, they moved back to a zone block philosophy under Nall in 2003, which had been a drive block philosophy under Petrino in 2002, and a zone philosophy under Mazzone in 2001. Same for JC - different OC's and QB coaches all three seasons. I'm no NFL scout, but I do know that O-line units are the most susceptible to performance decline during offensive changes, and AU has had way too many changes to develop any consistent power game.

That's exactly why AU's recruiting priority are the big-uglies. They've got Leon Hart, Cameron Mayo, and Jackie Claude still in the funnel - much needed commitments for the o-line. Hart would likely start as a pure freshman.

I can appreciate the passion he has for his team. Its hard to admit when your team is down and out. I guess he's looking for anything inside of AU football he can hang his hat on. What he must realize is that we got an awful amount of how great JC & CO. were before the season started and another huge dose of it before coming into Tiger stadium with already 2 losses on the season and a absolute spanking at LSU. A few weeks after that you had to hear how great they were again. Now the season is over and we now are hearing again how great JC & CO. are. BULLSHIT! This got started by Cadillacattack saying JC is top 3 SEC and may be #1. I said I would Take MR before JC and he got his feathers ruffled. I'll cut him some slack, but I wont sit idle while he posts that same shit they been posting here since August.

You make some good points, but you are incorrect about one thing. LSU played the games with the same five guys in there the entire game. Except for injuries and blow outs, it was the same 5 guys the entire game. No subs. That was by design. Most teams do this. You put your line in there and get them working like a fine tuned engine and you leave them alone.

Also, we were lucky to have very few (one on the LG?) injuries on the o-line this season. We did have depth though. If we would have had injuries, the level of play would not have slacked off too much. We are losing two key guys on the OL and we have 2 (Niswanger/McGill) coming back with significant playing experience that should fit in there nicely. Throw in the freshman who redshirted and it will be a war to see who will be on the line.

Let's put it this way...I remember when JC was being recruited out of Mississippi, and his final decision came down to LSU and Auburn. I can remember being disappointed that he chose Auburn over us at the time...but no more. Today I am quite happy that he is an Auburn Tiger.

Actually , no. The discussion was in reference to Auburn's offensive problems. While on the surface it would be easy to criticize the QB or the RB, the fact remains that the problem is with the O-line. JC is, in fact, one of the top 3 in the SEC - statistically. And to clarify, I did not state that he was #1, only that he could contend for #1 next season, now that the 2 QB's that were in front of him this season (Manning, Mauck) are leaving the conference. I don't think that opinion is "a reach."

Auburn indeed has it's problems, they're just not with JC or CW. No need for me to BS in order to "hang my hat." The season is what it is - an 8-5 record with losses against some teams that should have been W's (GT and Ole Miss).

I merely asked for a reason - any reason - why someone would pick MR over a 3rd year Senior rated in the top 3. And you'll note that no response was provided to the question. Nobody's doubting MR, he's very good, but not yet as good as his potential.

You are correct about teams wanting to play their O-lines as a unit. Auburn's problem is that they did not have a choice in the matter. When I say zero depth, I'm not kidding. Injured players kept on playing, when most teams would've subbed out in order to heal-up. AU never had that luxury this season. It does make a difference when you have a choice.
