We are losing Karlos Dansby and Dontarious Thomas our two LBs who opted to stay instead of enter the draft last year. Plus a few other good guys on defence. In all though, we didnt really lose a ton of players this year. Ronnie, Caddilac, and Carlos Rogers all staying was all very good news though.

    WAR DAMN EAGLE!!

Big deal ... they'll get fifty-three yards rushing again.

LSU outgained Auburn, 381 yards to 193 yards, including a 157-53 edge in rushing yards. : shock : LSU's defensive line controlled the trenches,'' said Williams. ``They beat us in all phases. Jason Campbell was sacked four times. We have got no excuses,'' Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville said. They lined up and whipped us on both sides. We couldn't tackle in the first quarter. Offensively we didn't make anything work.''

    CW

It seems to me that CTT may have saved some of his best recruiting effort for CW and RB. Additionally, AU has several solid RB recruits from the current class. All is well in the backfield at Auburn.

With regards to Jason Campbell, I can assure you that he has the potential to become a force to be reckoned with. Check his ratings and stats. The fact of the matter is that Auburn's offense has suffered from several problems, but Jason Campbell is definitely not one of them:

    1. 3 OC's in 3 seasons
    2. 3 QB coaches and 2 WR coaches in 3 seasons
    3. 2.5 offensive systems in 3 seasons
    4. Lack of depth on OL

You see, the issue is a lack of continuity and a questionable OL. The prospects that CTT is focused on currently recruiting are primarily in the high need areas - OL and secondary. If AU lands Leon Hart (looks likely) and Cameron Mayo it will help the siuation immensely.

Assuming he remains healthy, Jason Campbell will finish as one of the top 3 QB's in the SEC next season, perhaps even contending for the top spot. It just depends on the big uglies.
LSU excelled in the skill and depth of both offense and defensive lines last season. I really enjoyed watching their O-line improve steadlily over the course of the season. I really believe it was one of the unheralded stories of the SEC season.

The other area that Auburn must make critical improvement is in downfield blocking by the WR's. Any team could take a lesson from what Saban has done with LSU. The jam-and-lock scheme used by LSU's CB's is textbook - and when you have talented WR's (as LSU always seems to have) that practice against that type of coverage all season long, they become great downfield blockers. USC implores the same philosophy. Downfield WR Blocks = Big yardage Plays.

Anyway, just my humble two-cents worth.

Based on just finishing his Junior season and has about 35 starts under his belt, HE SUCKS. If he was as good as you say he is, he would have taking control of your team like it was his. Thats not the impression you got while watching the Aubies this year, no leadership at QB. Fear in his eyes at Tiger stadium this year like you would get from a fresh with 1st start jitters. I do believe if MR had the reigns for 3 yrs at LSU he would be miles apart in ability compared to JC. You know why Caddy, a good part of those miles would have come from coaching, something you dont have either. Even though MR never had all those starts, he still throws a better ball and is much more of a run threat than JC, hands down.

Throws a better ball, blah, blah, blah.....so in other words its your subjective opinion, but not based on any quantitative support.

You may be right. But that's a long way from saying he's as good today. He's not, and only a fool would select a rook like MR over a seasoned veteran with three years experience and a multitude of hurdles that he has successfully managed. If he had a decent O-line, the perceptions about JC would change significantly.

And as far as JC finishing in the top 3, consider that JC's QB rating and completion percentage for the season fell behind only two other QB's in the SEC: Manning and Mauck.subjective
