    Re: Best Tiger crowd

Actually, the attendance for the '79 USC game was 78,332. The north upper deck was completed in '78. But still, an amazing night with 14,000 fewer fans than for the Georgia game.

BengalB, I don't know what you are talking about - LSU being a party school in the 70s. I spent most of my time in The Library - the one on Chimes Street, that is (nyuk, nyuk)! Also the White Horse and the Bengal.
I was at that 75-76 Stones concert. Remember that they opened their "Sticky Fingers" tour in BR with two shows in one day. I went to the first one and was right up against the stage. In 75, Frank Zappa played the PMAC and I met him backstage after the show. He was genuinely a nice guy.
As for good fried chicken near campus, anyone remember "Quick and Handy" on Nicholson? It was neither quick nor handy, but those summitches could cook some chicken.
But back to the subject at hand: The LSU-FSU game in '82 was about as loud as the '79 USC game. And when the oranges came flying out onto the field it was amazing. I was on the first row in the north end zone and was covered in orange pulp and juice - and didn't care. We won and were going to the Orange Bowl!

I knew a guy whose Mother thought he was spending a lot of money on books because of all the checks he wrote to the Library.

I have to wonder about Zappa. Anybody who would name his son Dweezil and his daughter Moon Unit. ...... Joe Delpits Chicken Shack had good bird and great popcorn shrimp. I was located about where the Jack in the Box is now on Highland north of campus.
