  1. 2011 Bama played us. That's it. We played Oregon and West Virginia, 2 of the best offenses in the country.
  2. All I am saying is that its not cut and dry. Homer glasses off, there have been many "great" D's. LSU is right there and we have TWO in the discussion of all time greats.

    That's all.

Anyway, like I said I think my point on Chavis was missed.

I don't think he should be fired, but I definitely don't count on the D making good stops anymore.......
  3. Hold and pump full of viagra pre-game so he will lay the wood on some opposing offenses.
  4. Hmmmm. 2003 vs 2011

    2003 2011
DE Marcus Spears or Barkevius Mingo
DT Kyle Williams or Michael Brockers
DT Chad Lavalais or Bennie Logan
DE Marquise Hill or Sam Montgomery
LB Eric Alexander or Stephon Francois
MLB Lionel Turner or Kevin Minter
LB Cameron Vaughn or Ryan Baker
CB Corey Webster or Mo Claiborne
CB Chavis Jackson or Tyran Mathieu
SS Jack Hunt or Brandon Taylor
FS Laron Landry or Eric Reid
Nick Randall Gay or Tharold Simon

Interesting that the real star power of both D's are in the same place...on the line, corners, free safety. Linebackers are fairly anonymous.
  5. It was Travis Daniels (chevis jackson was a 2007 senior)Corey Webster, Hunt and Landry, and Gay, which is formidable but, give me Mo, Badger, Reid, Taylor, Brooks, and Simon all day every day.

I'd take the 03 backers, and the line is a push. What pushes 2011 over the top is Tyrann Mathieu and the defensive backfield.

    Not that 03's db's weren't awesome, 2011's were once in a lifetime.
Winston1, KyleK and TigerTap like this.
  6. I love stats more than anyone, but LSU's defense passed the eyeball test more than Bama's. In terms of impact plays LSU's defense was the best in the nation that year. And arguably of all time.
  7. Naught.
  8. Poll
  9. 2011 easy
  10. And that's the real issue between fans today... the ones who have faith and the ones who do not. I have faith, but then, I am known for my patience. A lot of folks don't seem to have the patience to watch new players grow. I think our finest hours are coming up, but we're not going to be there with a team full of fresh meat in their first season playing college football.
