No, you and the UN want it both ways.

The UN writes these resolutions, then refuses to step up and make nations abide by them.

It's saying one thing and doing another. Especially when there is a chance to screw the U.S., or stop the U.S. from doing something it feels is necessary for self-preservation or greater world security.

It just makes the UN more of an irrelevant farce than it already is, if that's possible.

If the UN cares nothing for the wording of it's own resolutions, or following through with their enforcement, let's just be done with this ridiculous exercise altogether.

As for world populations and peoples, again, why must 50% +1 of the people and nations of the world agree to something to magically make it "right" or "moral" or "justified." If we used that standard, 50% +1 of the world's people think all Jews should be killed immediately. Because Jews are, of course, to blame for all the world's evils. SO LET'S DO IT!

What is popular is not always right. What is right is not always popular.

i was actually posting bush quotes, not UN quotes. i know you are aware of this, but are making a poor straw man argument.

i dunno why you keep repeating this, we are well aware that bush went to war without the UN stamp of approval. the over/under on how many more times it will take you to realize this is 2. try hard and maybe you stay under.

    that sounds fantastic to me.

right. and sir mix-a-lot specifically loves to mention how much he hates big butts.

Sure, and you keep bringing up UN resolutions, but you don't think the UN was backing the war, but you quote UN resolutions, but you don't think the UN was backing the war, but.....

martin, you and jetstorm are just a couple of liars who have no point and nothing to say.

You still have not justified the Iraqi War, but since you can't, why don't you just give it up?

ok, so living by the poll is just fine when der schlike-meister Clinton is in the office, but if a Republican that may have some appearance of this tendency is somehow evil.

Do you know how stupid you really sound with all this foolihness?

No Gus. The sad thing is that he really has no clue about how other people know how stupid he sounds. This guy is so far out there that he would call Karl Marx a right wing nut.

I dont think he should have broadcast where he was going, but he could have made a public appearence somewhere in that 72 hour period.

This was the first time EVER that an American President went unseen for that long.

Not the first time EVER LSU. Just the first time in the Modern Age of television. Back in the old days, most Americans NEVER got to see the President.

I think most of you are missing a big point! Pres. Bush was able to hide something from the media, american public everybody. Even though what he did was good it goes to show that hiding bad things from the world is not hard. I think it should be a wake up call to everybody that the Fed. Gov still has the ability to do things we will never know about, good and bad.
