    I love George Will.

"It is important that Miers not be confirmed unless, in her 61st year, she suddenly and unexpectedly is found to have hitherto undisclosed interests and talents pertinent to the court's role. Otherwise the sound principle of substantial deference to a president's choice of judicial nominees will dissolve into a rationalization for senatorial abdication of the duty to hold presidents to some standards of seriousness that will prevent them from reducing the Supreme Court to a private plaything useful for fulfilling whims on behalf of friends."

Yea, looks like Mr. Will smacked this one out of the park. And his last line summarizes the complaint many people (myself included) have about whether President Bush is actually still a Republican.

I went back and read some of his past writings. I am having a hard time deciding if I like this guy or not. Some of the statements he makes I agree with, others are way out in left field. How would you describe Will's political beliefs NoLimit?

That's a very good question, and I'd probably say he's objectively conservative. Meaning, he doesn't always toe the party line, but rather analyzes issues from a conservative (fiscally, and I THINK socially) perspective.

Years ago, he was much easier to predict b/c the parties acted more along the lines of their traditional beliefs. In recent years, he's been more critical of Republican (and obviously Democrat) moves because they haven't been very restrained, financially or politically.

The guy is sharp is a tack, and I never get the feeling that he's writing with ulterior motives, which is pretty dang rare these days.

I'm sure other people here could expound further, as I know he's pretty popular w/ some (SabanFan, martin, Red, etc.)

I wish he would have nominated Hilary Clinton to the Supreme Court.

But she only knows about breaking the law. Doesnt know a thing about upholding it.

Plus even the Democrats wouldnt have voted for her. They honestly think she is going to run for President and win.

America will have a woman President eventually but it wont be her.

Joseph Biden is such a two faced bum. He tells Ruth Bader Ginsburg she doesnt have to answer any questions she feels give away how she will vote.

Then when a Republican President nominates one he thinks that should not happen.

Politics is full of a bunch of crooks and liars. On both sides.
