You are right on Soap. Bertman got to 5 NCs by sacrificing wins in some cases in order to have the right people in the right places come tournament time. Bumstead got in some much needed game work and showed hints of being what he was last year. It's not always about the "W" in college baseball.
"He's a bum. that's why his name is "bum"stead. as long as he's in the game, the opposition has a chance to win, no matter what the deficit is." Pitching is just as much mental as physical. This is Bumsteads first game and he is coming back from what many thought just a few days ago was a season ending injury, that would make many a great pitcher timid. He played great ball last season and has a chance to be one of our best again this year. Give the guy a break and a few games before we start to trash him.
