I really loved listening to Buddy D. As a sports radio announcer I try to listen to as many different folks as possible, and I have to say that Buddy D was very, very unique. A multi-time sports personality of the year winner, Buddy D had a great blend of broadcast journalist, fan, critic and entertainer which made for great shows. The Saints pregame shows were very entertaining and at times very critical of the organization. And I doubt whomever replaces Buddy D behind the mike as a host, will have the same leeway and freedoms are be able to push the envelope as far as Buddy often did. Also enjoyed it when Buddy took over for Hap's point after. He was a true icon in the business and will be missed. Condolences to Buddy's family, especially his son Mike who is a good guy.

    Buddy D was a reporter/sportscaster for over 50 years.

Retire? Never. He literally worked until the day he died.

Hopefully the Saints will go to the Superbowl next year now that Buddy won't have to wear the dress.

    RIP
