Great pbp, have been unable to follow the past couple of days. When being able to open up the game thread let's one live the game through anothers words and one can feel the excitement of the game a couple of days later, that is magical. Thanks for the great job.
This weekend tourney doesn't represent the top of the competition pool we will face this season, but they do have some really solid pitchers. So far, great job by the Tigers, I'm impressed. I thought we might drop 1 to Pepperdine, but this team, as has been CPM's signature, has fight, determination, and grit. I'm looking forward to SEC play.
Hey man you gotta do better than that on pbp. I wanna know how we scored, where Nola ate lunch yesterday and who Watkins is currently dating. In all seriousness, thanks to all that do pbp and John you do a terrific job of making use relive it for those that can't catch the games. Bengal Buddy is a legend in these here parts as well. I really enjoy reading these threads all the way from beginning to end.
Can I get an explanation of what happened on that double play to end the game with a man on at 2nd? Did he just make a baserunning blunder and get tagged out trying to go to third? Or was it a line drive caught and then doubled him off 2nd?
he tried to advance to 3rd on the throw from 3rd. 5 errors on pepperdine and that running error should count for number 6.
Tagged out trying to go to 3rd... bet he wishes he had that one back being that he represented the tying run at 2B. It was a grounder to 3B Didier, Didier threw the man out at 1B, then Dean threw it back to Didier to tag the baserunner out at 3B. 5-3-5 double play. Nice recovery by Didier, being that he had an error to get that runner on base in the first place. It was the freshman Didier's second start of his LSU career. Delatte, also a freshman, started at 3B the other 8 games.
I was thinking that same thing... that they should give errors to baserunners. Being that the guy got on base in the first place because of an error by Didier, his mistake basically nullified Didier's error.
That guy, Given, that hit the homer of Ott last night is a junior that is batting .450 this season after 12 games, #1 on Pepperdine's team. His slugging % of .650 is also #1 on Pepperdine's team.
Yea, I have to admit I do tend to get too negative during the football games. I guess it is because I love LSU football so much it is hard to watch them play poorly. It is something I am working on. At the same time, when a player makes a bone-headed mistake or a coach makes calls a bone-headed play, they deserve to be called on it. But overall, fans need to remain positive and that includes me.
