I'm afraid not. The humvee/infantry force in Iraq is not the tank-heavy armored force that we would need to fight with Iran. Those tanks and big artillery are in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia in big warehouses on secure bases in friendly countries, ready to marry-up with their crews coming in by jetliner.

The infantry in Iraq should be withdrawn to Kuwait, too. From Kuwait we could defend everything we need to defend and we could do it with fewer, more specialized regular army soldiers and let the National Guard go back home to work.

If we should go to war with Iran, it is going to be heavy in airpower and seapower. We're not going to try to go in an occupy a hostile country when it ain't needed. Who would do a stupid thing like that?
