If it's happened before then there is no excuse. Some British frigate captain is going to lose his command for letting his sailors get captured in a rubber boat too far from the ship to support them.

Iran took some British sailors in 2004. The difference is the sailors taken in 2004 were in Iranian waters. There is dispute over that this time. The British claim to have been in Iraqi waters and the Iranians say the opposite.

The British have satellite photos, GPS Data, and the data from the vessel that they were boarding. There is no dispute.

I didn't know all that. I figured the Iranians were lying, but didn't know it was conclusively true.

There will be a noisy dispute alright. The problem is that we and the Brits are completely capable of doctoring the data and the Iranians will point that out.

Seems like they want to slam their own country while ignoring the world when
    they break the geneva convention?

Iran is a savage uncivilized country. I would expect them to subject prisoners to propaganda. I don't care when they do it because they are evil. I expect an evil government to do evil things. Our country is good. I would always care more about how our country obeys international treaties because we are better than everyone else and we should always hold our government to a higher standard.

Iran has always flaunted the Geneva Convention, while the United States, until recently, has always honored the Geneva Convention.

I think the US must remain committed to the GC and insist that those who don't should get on board. You seem to be suggesting that we sink to the level of Iran. This makes no sense to me.
