I'm curious to your reaction of the following: https://twitter.com/LateKickJosh/status/1486885744077647872
It said it right there in the graphic, dominance in development. Ratings are less important than development.
Kiki has become the voice of reason. Sure, he looks like an idiot. But who cares? He’s having fun. He knows he can’t dance well so he’s leaning into it. Also Danny Lewis should finish ranked higher than 36 in the state. The Gumps are after him too.
A really good point that a lot simply ignore. 247 defines a five star as, "This player has excellent pro-potential and should emerge as one of the best in the country before the end of his career. There will be 32 prospects ranked in this range in every football class to mirror the first round of the NFL Draft." Rivals mentions "NFL potential" as well as All-American potential (something ESPN refers to as well.) One of ESPN's metrics is early entrance possibilities. Every one of those service rankings are dependent on a players development while in school. Players develop better under some coaches than others. Or in other words, a five star quarterback on one team under one coach is not a five star quarterback under a different coach, different team. I'd argue a five star quarterback under Riley is a four star guy under Franklin, a three star guy under Muschamp...and in the CFL under Malzahn.
Will they drop their highly rated TE (#10 Rivals & #8 247) #13 nationally, that they just signed, to get to a lower ranked 3 star from Louisiana #40 ranked nationally? Add in Niblack, #5 ATH/TE. Saban just pulling a Slade Bolden, welcoming Kelly to the SEC? https://247sports.com/Season/2022-Football/CompositeRecruitRankings/InstitutionGroup=HighSchool&Position=TE Bama has 24 recruits now, are 3 stars. We've got 13 recruits, 7 are 3 stars. I think we'll get 4 star that decommitted, Citizen & probably the 4 star Safety, Jacoby Mathews, & several more, which will bring our numbers up. Hard to really guess with NiL $$ involved.
Hopefully tomorrow we have a second Christmas of sorts. Really looking forward to who the newest Tigers will be.
