The KOD had expired when the Astros went South. They are flat out getting their asses dominated by the Nationals. No KOD involved.
Astros lost the series last night. Brantley not running hard on contact on the ball Robles slipped and fell in center field. He easily scores. Springer admiring a home run that wouldn't materialize, should have had an easy triple vs a double. Tying run with only 1 out. Totally changes the complexion of the inning. Gurriel not having his arm outstretched on the throw to first trying to double up Rendon in the 5th to end the inning. The next batter Soto doubles in 2. Everything the Astros did so well vs the Yankees eluded them last night. And that's just tragic.
Three things: 1) The Nationals started the season slow, but in the middle and end of the season they played as well as the Astros. 2) The Astros are overconfident. When you hit the ball you are supposed to hustle to first base, not stand in the box and watch it. 3) They are more concerned with running up the pitch count with the opposing pitcher than with hitting pitches that are right down the center of the plate.
