I agree...but, I most closely agree with the republican platform. Stop kidding yourself about a strong third party. I doubt seriously if we'll see that come about in our lifetimes. I guess it all depends on which special interest groups they're listening to. They're not all bad, except for most of the ones the dems cater to. I'll take big business any day over big unions. The unions, and the dems, have cost more Americans their jobs than anything else. Who can blame corporations for moving out of country? In the end, it's all about profit margins anyway. Say thank you to the dems, and unions, for putting so many good Americans in the unemployment lines. That's just fine by the dems though, because then they have a little puppet they can control with their welfare and unemployment income. Yes, I do. It's hard to do harm to my country if yours no longer exist.
No, I saw that part, I just think it's really funny and naive to think that of both parties, the Democrats are more likely to act in the best interests of their constituents. Don't get me wrong, the Republicans are no angels either, but you can't make the generalization that Democrats fit the picture better. Both parties suck these days anyways, so who are we kidding.
No. But it sounds like another example of someone who puts his politics ahead of his job. Interesting. Over 3,400 years later and the Hebrews are still fighting the Philistines on the same turf. I guess that's the way God wants it.
They're certainly holding their own, even with the odds stacked against them. Many empires have fallen since the time that God delivered them to their land. God will deliver them from their enemies when it's time. Read the Bible more red, it's all part of a plan.
I hope you are wrong here. We almost had a viable third party in 1992. How different a country would the political landscape be had Perot not dropeed out that first time? This is a silly arguement. Unemployment is at 4.4 percent. Anyone can find a job in this economy. Unfortunately, there is still a profound need for Unions in this country. Ford is cutting jobs left and right, but is paying its CEO $7 Million a month even though his re-organization plan is failing. I once had a client that closed a factory, and eliminated 2,000 jobs for a cost savings of a little over $1 Million. They then spent $2.5 Million laying hardwood floors and mohogany trim in the executives suites. That added big time value for the share holders. My point is that corporate greed still rules the day and workers need powerful advocates. A lot of those good manufacturing jobs that are moving over seas wouldn't be very good if not for the unions.
Perot was to the right of the Republicans! It wouldn't have been a moderate party. Shareholders need more powerful advocates, too. The friggin' Supervisors get hand-picked by the executives and they aren't exercising any control. Unless you are a huge shareholder, you get no representation at all except for rare proxy votes. Normally I always vote against all Supervisors because turnover is good. It doesn't help, but its all that we can do.
I wasn't saying it would have been. My point was that viable third parties can rise. I agree 100% most BODs are complete jokes. Boards should be independent of management. It really sticks in my craw when Company A's executives sit on the board of Company B and Company B's executives sit on the board of Company A. Another emerging trend is internal audit funcitions are reporting to management and not to the BOD. Management of corporations is becoming more more fraternal and aristocratic.
Mitch Landrieu announced he won't run for Governor. What other dems are there with statewide name recognition? Jindal might win by default.
uhh, I don't think even he is that stupid......although he has certainly proved me wrong in the past.
