i bought a glock 42 2 days ago at bass pro in denham springs. there was a federal check of some kind, there always is. its not clear to me what the left is calling for. steve kerr for instance, he says we all favor background checks but congress wont act. isnt that what they did when i filled out the forms at bass pro?

 

What they want is a registry. So they can use that for red flag laws and so on. When anti gun activists say “universal background checks”, they mean they don’t want private party sellers. Meaning you’d have to pony up $25 or $35 or (if it is mandatory) $200 for some dude to call the FBI and give them your social security number.

ETA: Which also won’t stop crazy people from doing crazy things.

When there are school shootings and it involves regular citizens, the answer is less guns.
Whenever someone attacks politicians like was purported on Jan. 6th, their first inclination is put up fences, call in the National Guard, we need greater security!
