    Your arguments weak. The shooter is dead. The Buffalo shooter is as good as guilty already. He's in jail. What more could a quick trial do? Both cases end up with shooter in jail or already dead. No gun laws are changed. But lets face it, the cats out the bag, guns are everywhere. I don't have the answer, but the need for change is clear. It hurts to the bone thinking and visualizing every school with armed guards and teachers. A little more to consider:

    In 1791, it took the average gun owner about thirty seconds to load and fire his gun, and it took great skill practice to be able to hit what he was aiming at.

    Today You Can Fire Fifteen Times Or More In A Few Seconds

    Today, anyone can pick up a gun and fire a dozen or more rounds in only a few seconds and hit a man-sized target with at least one of them from fifteen or twenty feet away.

    We have had this discussion before and not much has changed. Mental illness is to blame NOT the guns. What happened at the school is tragic, that tragedy would pale in comparison to the carnage left in the wake of a disarmed people with a government like ours

    Bullshit. This shit doesn't happen in the UK and Australia, where in horror after massacres they passed laws and rounded up the guns. Have we crossed the point of no return where gun nuts won't turn them in without a fight? Probably. Maybe. But if there's going to be a war over guns maybe we should have it... people are getting slaughtered, anyway.

    So the solution is to pass more laws that the bad guys will ignore? But further restrict the law abiding? I said up front, I don't own a gun; my choice. So more gun laws won't affect my personal exercise of that particular liberty. You're obviously coming down on the side of more restrictions, but you haven't told us your ownership status. I'll assume you're not an owner, so your advocating a restriction on other people, not yourself. You say you can't bear to think of armed guards in schools, but what are you willing to give up to solve the problem?
