It is a fishing village south of Mobile. They have a blessing of the fleet there every year. Now home to a large Vietnamese population.

i think brandon was recruited by many colleges including LSU, and auburn out of high school but when he didn't have the grades for a divison 1-A school, Lsu kinda backed off but auburn stayed with him, he had to go to junior college to get his grades up, so i think thats why he went to auburn out of juco

Bayou La Batre does actually exist. I know because I have driven though the town.

Yeah, there isnt much more land south of here, but Bayou La Batre is. That town's economy relies entirely on seafood and Levi jeans. There is a Levi factory there, too.

Actually Brandon Johnson is a very solid football player. He went to Alma Bryant High School, which is in the same division as the High School I graduated from (W. P. Davidson, for those keeping score at home), so they play each other every year. The first year of the schools existence was 1999, and BJ was the feature back and also played linebacker. He was an offensive and defensive captain if I remember correctly. He led a defense that gave up exactly 10 points the entire year (regular season, I think they lost in the playoffs), and had some crazy number of sacks with 66 tackles and an interception in addition to his 17 touchdowns and 1336 yards rushing. He is also an outstanding blocking FB at the college level. Thats probably why you havent heard of him, the great fullbacks dont get the press.

That's exactly what happened...he said he wanted to stay committed to Auburn since that's where he committed to in the first place. And I've read that he could get a number of touches this Saturday against Vandy to try and aid our pitiful excuse for an offense...so we'll all get our look this Saturday if that's the case.

I' have posted this in another thread, but I will repeat myself. Brandon Jacobs is not that good. The year he rushed for 3000 yards he only got thirty yards against my highschool team defense. I tackled him severel times and he outweighed me by 100 pounds. He runs straight up like a board and he goes down very easily.

Just to make sure everyone is following, we are talking about two different AU Players . .

Brandon Jacobs - JUCO All-American RB who LSUsupaFan has now told us twice that he tackled him in High School

Brandon Johnson - Senior FB at Auburn who had an amazing year at Auburn in 2002 and was probably our most effective run blocker.

Neither are seeing the field much right now . .Jacobs, because there are two backs better than him (maybe three), Johnson, because our OC is a fargin' idiot.

one of the reasons he chose Auburn is becuase most schools were recruiting him as either an DL or LB....Auburn said he could play RB and thats what he wanted, so he committed to Auburn.....at least this what i've heard, anyway!!!

Perhaps, as an athlete, he knew that LSU's backs were better--and opted for the lesser competition? :)

    ...Sorry--couldn't resist.
