Bottom Line, LSU doesn't have the cash to buy Brady out of his contract at the moment or I think they would consider it - so he will get next year and then we'll see. No way they extend him beyond that right now...
I haven't seen a post that stupid in awhile... BTW-For anyone who compares the attrition rates from b-ball to f-ball, you're absolutely right, it's ridiculous... It'd be tantamount to Nick Saban running off 42-43 scholarship players over the course of a 4 year period... Would ANYONE here be asking to give Nick Saban more time if he had run 43 kids off the damn team by this time? Do you think we go 13-1 this year? Or 8-5 last year? Or 10-3 in 2001? That's a rate of over TEN PER YEAR, and we sign what...TWENTY FIVE? Half your team in four years...Half your team... Yeah, like Mikethe(man who's got the brain of a)Tiger said, let's not compare the football and basketball teams, because if we go by that hypothetical, anyone who defends Brady is a numbnut...
It would cost LSU the remainder of his yearly salary, which is $800,000... Then, they would be on the hook for the next four years, which he's paid at 800 thou per...That's what...FOUR MILLION DOLLARS to buy him out... We're taking in how much via the new ticket price increases next year? 7.5 million by approximation-according to LSU? Do you think that the LSU Athletic Department will fork over HALF of the ticket surcharges over to the guy? Screw yourself out of 4 million? Gimme a break...They will wait...and bide their time... Brady has enough of a shovel at the helm of this program...he will eventually dig his own grave as coach...Forgive me if I don't show up for the wake... Stick a fork in him.
his base salary is much lower than that i do believe. his radio contract is somewhere from 300-400K a yr plus money for tv, etc. base salary is around 300k I do believe so if they wanted to buy him gone it would be done.
you are the guy who "recused" himself from this issue. stick to your own words, then preach to us about credibility.
salary his base salary is only 250k and 375 for radio. so 1 million buyout it is. chump change, administration must love brady.
I do not think it is fair to trash the administration. Although I do think Brady is not the man for this job, he has not been so miserable (like Dinardo's last year) to make his firing undebatable. But, everyone agrees that next year is 20 wins and an NCAA bid or bust.
Its pretty easy to say he won't get a raise or a rollover this year. He dosen't deserve one. But what if they are 17-4 next year and instead of melting down they they end up 28-7 and go into the Sweet 16 or even the Elite 8? Don't laugh. It could happen it Bass turns his game up a notch, Tack gets his game under control and Big Baby turns out to be everything he is cracked up to be. Then Brady gets a raise and a rollover. Brady is not going to be fired this year. Live with it. Next year is his make or break year and he knows it.
