LSU basketball is just as big to me as football. I am looking at the big picture and I see a team that on it's best night is average, mainly because of no guards and no bench which is the blame of the coach, a coach who in my opinion is not very good. On another note, does anybody know what it will cost LSU to get rid of Brady?

you'd probably have to know how to spell genius before recognizing one.

And the good bench they would have in most seasons instead of having to basically play 6-7 guys that are productive. To me Brady's biggest fault will alwys be the lack of players on the roster due to picking out the wrong recruits or running them off, whichever reason happens to apply to the different players we have lost over the past few years.

everyone can talk about brady's excellent grabs in swift, bass and davis. the difference between a middle of the road SEC team and a consistent winner are role players. for one reason or another, brady has failed miserably at recruiting and retaining those unselfish, team-first players that are key to every successful team. what about recruiting in new orleans? there's got to be a ton of talent at new orleans area high schools and brady has done little to recruit there. instead he insists on recruting guys all over the country when there are talented basketball players 90 miles up the road who would die to wear the purple and gold. instead he reaches for players like regis kundja who could care less about the tiger rag and tradition dale brown established in BR. I've been a brady supporter since he got here, impressed by how hard and tough his undermanned players played those first few years. now, with a little talent, I see a man confused with little control over his undisciplined team which shows up when they feel like it. To have won only one road game this year with that schedule is inexcusable. It's sad that some people are satisfied with this mediocrity (you know who you are) as they respond with the pathetic excuse of "LSU was never an elite bb program" as if that's some prerequisite for a successful program or hiring a quality coach who has charisma and serves as a fatherly figure and a role model for some of these kids. so, why not now?

Everybody who remembers anything about LSU Basketball from the late 70s - mid 80s knows that Ron Abernathy was the real brains of that coaching staff...Dale just took all the credit.

yes, as far as x's and o's, you're right about abernathy. no one could match dale's motivation or recruiting skills. to an extent, tex winter, although he was only around for about three years in the late 80's early 90-91.
