I agree that there were an extraordinary amount of players leaving the program for whatever reason, but that doesn't have anything to do with graduation averages.

    Really??

Sorry, but if a player leaves the program early...for WHATEVER reason...it has something to do with graduation rates. You're just gonna have to trust me on this, mmmK?

How many players have left Duke early/transferred in that same time period? And what is their graduation rate during that same time period?

Here's a question I've been wanting to ask Brady for 11 years........when Brady's Samford team beat Dale Brown in Dale's last year, he had a motion offense, with back-door cuts. Constant movement.

In his 11 years here there has not been one shred of this. Not one. Guys stand around and launch bad 3's when the shot clock is down. This seems like a team, lacking height and strength, filled with mainly guard-type, fast guys who can move........where is the motion from his Samford team?

And one more thing: I have been searching for a way to sum up what Brady has done to LSU basketball and why fans don't respond to him. People have said he isn't likeable, he doesn't promote the team etc etc etc.

To me, he takes the fun out basketball. He doesn't appear to be having fun in the least....EVER! He's like Smoke in that sense. It looks like a terrible burden when he is coaching. Bruce Pearl appears to have fun, is having fun with his team and enjoys the interaction with his team, the players and fans. Brady has not a shred of this personality. It looks to me like he has no fun, so therefore his team has no fun. I saw where he said his team works hard everyday so we should support them. I'm sure they work hard but at some point this has to be fun for the players and fans. And it isn't and it hasn't been since he got here. Brady drains the fun from everything and everyone he touches.

    My summation of his tenure.

Sounds to me like Craig needs to put his name in the hat. Dude can obviously coach.

I think you've got something here. Dale Brown was enthusiastic and it was very contagious.

I know standing around chunking 3's doesn't work.

I'm gonna take a shot in the dark here since I never saw any of Samford's game when JB used to coach there.

My take is that at Samford he didn't have the same type of players with great athletic abilities that he does at LSU...Which means that they're not gonna beat anybody one on one, therefore the need for all the motion and movement...Since he has many athletic and quick players he thinks that they can take their opponents off the dribble.

Or maybe Samford has intelectual property rights over the playbook and JB couldn't bring it with him.

I agree. I fully dismiss any notion that LSU can't play competitive basketball year in, year out. How I know it can be done is we've already done it. LSU was a competitive basketball team for most of 3 decades and had a place as one of the top 25 basketball programs in the country IMO.

Some of the best times of my life were going to midweek games after work with my dad and brother. Just leaving work and heading straight to the PMAC during Stro's 2 years here. But the fun has been drained from the program. Winning is certainly fun but we went to games when Dale's teams were struggling.....it was still fun. If the team, coach and fans aren't having fun I'll stay home and watch Mythbusters or something.

I agree with you that his Samford teams didn't have near the talent and that's why they ran a motion offense. But I have seen some of Brady's teams that have some ability but still far from a talented team......kinda like this year.

Bottomline this year......they aren't good. Pundits and Brady himself can say they don't have size, height.....etc etc. But honestly, they aren't good shooters either. Just because a guy shoots doesn't make him a good shooter. I've seen good shooters (heck I was one :)) and there is no one I would call on this team a good shooter......no one and we haven't had one during Brady's tenure IMO. A consistent good shooter.

So if you have problems rebounding, have problem shooting consistently, then something has to be done. You can't run a basic college offense if you can't rebound and shoot consistently.

An offense has to be in place that will either slow everything down and limit possessions or try to get easier shots where less offensive rebounding is required. If not, you lose by 40 to Mississippi State.
