I don't eat buffet very often. I've eaten at The Great Wall on College about four times and it's okay. The place on O'Neal at the end of the little shopping center was better, IMO. I've actually seen them throw out food that had been there for a little while because the crowd was small and replace it with fresh food. I agree. I lived off Government for about a year and that was a once-a-week meal for me. Living off Coursey now, we drop by China Express for take out on the way home. The whole family gets enough for leftovers and we spend about $25-$30.
King Buffet is up there as well. They have more selection too. But if I do go to a Chinese buffet, it'll most likely be Great Wall.
I went to the Chinese Combo King on Chimes Street last night and it was very good. It is a mix between a sit down and take out. You could tell they used great, fresh ingredients and the cook knew what he was doing. Fried Rice was great along with the Beef and Broccoli and Sesame Chicken. Nothing was over fried like you see everywhere else.
The ONLY problem I have with Great Wall is that I am allergic to MSG. I'm talking a migraine comes on before I can finish the meal. Great Wall keeps the MSG distributors in business. The food was tasty, but I avoid it like the plague. Its not good for my head. :nope:
It's a pretty nice restaurant. High quality food and everything. However, being a college student, it def wasn't what I thought it was being named "Chinese Combo King" and it was pretty expensive. Great food though...
