Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill I actually agree with Barton. BP has been vilified and convicted without so much as a simple hearing on the matter. BP has done nothing to indicate they are going to run out on their responsibilities. The show at the White House is purely political and does nothing to further the plugging and cleanup efforts. Why don't we talk about the offers of help from our allies that Obama had rejected.

Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill setting up an excrow account to pay damages out of is a bad thing? to hopefully keep the taxpayers from getting hit? the govt has done plenty wrong here. but bp hasnt shown me to be completely honest. i strongly disagree that barton was right. bp needs to be held accountable, and at the rate the company is losing its value, making sure something is set aside isnt a bad thing. it may be the ONE thing obama has gotten right so far.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill im not a lawyer so i dont know if bp has been violated, but this thing wont be legally finalized for 20 yrs. would you not be pissed if the gov said lets wait and see what the courts say in 20 yrs? and it isnt purely political. $20B is not political, it is money that can help a lot of people. bp stopping dividend payments for 2 quarters isnt purely political either. thats many extra $B that may be available for payments if needed. id like to hear what you have to say. i dont know much about it, except that it was denied. have you heard a complete explanation as to why?
