Gulf of Mexico oil leak may be bigger than BP says | NOLA.com

This article quotes experts who dispute Thad Allen's estimate (guesstimate) of oil flow from the BP hole in the seafloor.

In an interview with The Associated Press, team member and Purdue University engineering professor Steve Wereley said it was a "reasonable conclusion" but not the team's final one to say that the daily flow rate is, in fact, somewhere between 798,000 gallons and 1.8 million gallons.

"BP is claiming they're capturing the majority of the flow, which I think is going to be proven wrong in short order," Wereley said. "Why don't they show the American public the before-and-after shots?"
He added: "It's strictly an estimation, and they are portraying it as fact."

John King, USA on CNN was filmed in Montegut this evening.

they set up shop a couple blocks from here, right across the street from a good friend of mines parents' house.

watched the show (which I never knew existed until today) just because of this.
nothing exciting, new, or interesting, but it was pretty cool to see a national broadcast from down here.

John King replaced Lou Dobb's in the after-Wolf time slot. I haven't decided yet if I think he's very good. Almost anybody would be better than Dobbs.

"Mr. Moderate" was Mr. Boring and he just hammered and hammered on two issues -- the illegal alien problem and the decline of the middle class.

50 mill would help a lot of out of work fishermen. but that would make too much sense.

every time i read anything about bp any more, i want to ram an electric cattle prod up tony hayward's ass.

He kind of looks like Andy Serkis the guy who plays Gollum in the Lord Of the Rings movies, and also like the guy who played Frost in Frost Nixon.

I used to buy BP gasoline because they are one of the few companies who don't use Saudi Oil.
