Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill The only one I have ever seen work was the TV Bill...the one that would allow other companies besides the already cable companies to provide service in certain areas
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill No link yet but its being reported that the pipe has successfully been cut. Now comes that "cap" part.

Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Coast Guard praises pipe cut in BP spill - MarketWatch "U.S. Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen said BP has managed to cut through the riser pipe from its leaking well in the Gulf of Mexico in a move he hailed as "good news" and a "significant step." The cut will allow BP to proceed with plans to cap the well and start pumping oil up to tanker ships on the surface"
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill BP cuts pipe, plans to lower cap over Gulf spill - Yahoo! News See I dont get this cause the article you posted have Allen saying it was good news BUT this one has him saying that the cut was "irregular" and thats gonna make capping the well harder.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill if it means that bp can recover some of the oil, then it stands a better shot at working than the top kill did. /snark
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill I'll be waiting for them to try, then admit failure, because of the irregular cut.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Enterprise – ROV 2 looks to be a shot of the cap that will be lowered over the pipe. Ocean Intervention III - ROV2 shows a saw working with oil gushing from the cut pipe. Skandi ROV1 shows a cloud of crude and who knows what else. It's spraying dispersant (Dispersant Ops is listed on the HUD). I see why the cutting is taking so long. As soon as the blade starts to turn, sediment, oil, etc. clouds up the entire area rendering the operator blind. He stops cutting, waits for the cloud to disperse, re-positions the saw because the ocean has moved it and then starts cutting again. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Fortunately, money is becoming available to help people who have been effected by this. I work for a grant writing agency and am seeing both government, and private money, grants being made to help people along the coast. How To Get Small Business Grants http://www .gulfaid.org Hopefully these avenues will help people stay afloat and not lose everything they have. If you know someone effected, pass this on.
