Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill the damage to the marsh grass from this spill will happen a lot quicker over a wider area than Nutrias could ever dream of doing. over a 10-20 year span, maybe Nutrias and this oil could do the same damage. difference is the bulk of this oil will be done early in that 20 year time, where as Nutrias would be a slow methodical process. Should be done by August. sometimes, it is strong as phuck down here, others, I can't smell anything at all. an optical illusion. them rigs ain't small game over
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill just got a really depressing phone call. The oil has reached Bayou Barre. There are pictures of it lapping up to a camp that's only a few hundred yards south of where I took the pics I posted from my fishing trip. I haven't seen the pictures yet, but someone I know VERY well has seen them. Hoping to get them in an e-mail so I can post them here.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill I dont think that is really true. A lot of their guys are from the gulf region and grew up learning on the gulf coast -- and a lot of the Houston guys were based in New Orleans for a long time. The problem is most of them are puppets. It is just part of the process when you deal with an enormous corporation that has a widespread problem. Their efficiency level almost rivals the federal government's. Saw the biggest ling Ive seen in a while yesterday...under a dead turtle.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Exactly! the puppets may be passionate, but the people in charge are not.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill and I got 'em. pic was taken from the pier of a camp Just to give an idea of distances, here's a map. the top arrow is where we caught the redfish, and my son posed with one. the bottom arrow is the area where the oil pic was taken. i wanna kill somebody :bncry:
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Of course. I was talking about the guys we get on our news here - the guys "on the scene" and on network TV that all of the locals bitch about. Everyone complains about those guys. Point is, it is not like they can do want they want...theyre just great punching bags for the funny talking guys. I understand that most people realize this -- I just like to hear myself talk sometimes.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill I wonder how much the marsh grass will soak up and filter that oil from penetrating deeper into the bayou's and lakes?
