Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Here's the 60 Minutes interview, personal survivor story: Video Extras: Escape From Deepwater Horizon - 60 Minutes - CBS News
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Not impossible if you have the stones: A little humor added to a very serious situation.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill i watched both. but i also remember a couple of other things. one, it was supposed to be a 21 day job and it was at 6 weeks. a previous accident set them back badly time wise, and they were being pushed hard to do everything they could to speed it up because of how much money it was costing bp. i dont remember all the specifcs, but there is another rig in the gulf (a bp rig) that bp's own internal documents show corners were cut bad and things not done at all according to regulation. i would have to rewatch the show or find a transcript to remember tho. i have slept since then.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Went and did some offshore fishing yesterday out of cocodrie. Since last night I have eaten cobia, amberjack, almaco jack, & yellowtail. I am going to store this away in my memory banks in case it ends up being a long time before I can make another fishing trip. **** you BP!
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill so, you pass less than 5 minutes from my house en-route to a fishing trip and didn't even call?
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill Apparently so. Actually launched out of Chauvin. Even went with a captain that shares your last name. He's not related to you though.
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill more importantly, how much did y'all catch, and would you recommend this guy to others?
Re: Oil Rig explosion/Gulf Oil Spill About four hundred pounds (6 of us total). Cobia, amberjack, almaco jack, mangrove snapper, grouper. No luck with tuna or wahoo yesterday. Although we tried, just wasn't the day for 'em. Also caught another 200 pounds of red snapper throughout the day but they're not quite in season yet. Yes, would definitely recommend and hoping to go back sometime soon. BP permitting.
