That's because no one ever agrees with you. You try to hard to play devil's advocate.

I was dropped by my health insurance company for no real reason other than I had my attorney force them to live up to their end of the contract and pay the hospital what they owed them after the birth of one of my kids in order to get me out of collections.

I then was diagnosed with Diabetes outside of health care. I have been denied heath insurance and life insurance because of a now "preexisting condition".

I, and people like me are just basically screwed.

The healthcare bill is probably not a good bill overall, but they tell me that now I can't be denied coverage for my preexisting condition.

(well....that's the story I tell the immigration and nationalization service agents...I'm really an illegal Mexican national !!! Shhhhh...No le diga a nadie !!!!.:hihi:).

We gotta concentrate on the oil spill though. Sure hope that new cap works and the microbes can munch on the oil like pacman.

we've been drilling deepwater since the 70's.

only 1 deepwater horizon has happened in that time.
but if i'm reading you right, you seem to think 9 more would have happened in the last 3 months if not for the moratorium.

as of early april 2010, there were 128 rigs in the world capable of drilling in depths like the horizon.

so far 0.007% have catastrophically failed.

now does this low percentage mean it will never happen again? of course it doesn't
but it looks like the odds are pretty good that this isn't going to be a regular occurrence.

nope, you are reading me wrong. i said things would have been worse all these years if it was only La gov in charge of drilling regulation.
