This guy was, by Rivals standards, a three star DL...We have got five and four Star DL's waiting to play for LSU...This guy, evangel player or not, probably saw our talent at DL and knew he couldn't play for us...I am not crying over this one...I wouldn't even consider it a loss..

It really isn't a loss because we were never in the hunt for him too much. He'll be a good player I hope but there are many other people I would rather have than Bowers.

    Josh Booty-1st team All-SEC Coache's First Team, 2000

Abram Booty-1st team All-American (Freshmen), SEC All-Freshmen, 1st team. Retired due to medical reasons before his senior year and going in, was the active career receiving yardage leader in SEC history. This means that during the three years he saw action at LSU, he gained more yardage as a receiver than any other player in the conference during that time period.

This is even more impressive when you realize that LSU was a SERIOUSLY RUN ORIENTED TEAM, and had a quarterback in Herb Tyler that was a steady but unspectacular quarterback.

Bubba Alexander was the craziest individual I think I may have ever met in my life...More crazy weekend night's out stories and hilarious and amazing stories regarding Bubba and the rest of my group of friends than anyone else I've met...He exceeded expectations in that area...but not exactly an on the field star ;-)

    Re: Running Mouth

    I'll give you two.

Robert Davis & Byron Dawson, both good kids and good FB players.

This is a football comment, not a recruiting comment.

We'll see Bowers sacking Flynn or Roussell in the next few years when we play Ole Miss ... and you are running that meatsukr B4 your brain has been engaged.

That could be construed as a recruiting comment.

My recruiting comments relative to Mr. Bowers have been posted here.

Bubba could have been a freaking animal on the field from what some people I know in Shreveport and others have said...Or was he really not that good? What do you know TE?

I hope Bowers has an outstanding career at Ole Miss. We need a high SOS to qualify for the BCS.
Be honest Tiger fans, haven't you enjoyed the rivalry with Ole Miss more this season than in an average year?

The fact that Arkansas beat Texas gives us points this weekend. Since Saban and crew are recruiting nationally, we can't take all the best athletes in Louisiana. I hope the talented kids, that we can't sign, stay in the SEC to improve our competition. With Saban as Head Coach I'm not afraid of competition.

"Created friction that undermined Gerry DiNardo, costing him his job."
IF you are serious with that statement you have lost all credibility.

That is about the most stupid statement I have ever read on this board.
Dinardo had a Bilitnikoff award winning receiver sitting on the bench while he played Nall and a walkon quarterback at WR. He worked the OL into exhaustion prior to the season and they just quit on him.
Dinardo had two future NFL quarterbacks sitting on the bench behind Booty and couldn't develop them.
Booty deserved some criticism but he certainly did not cost Dinardo his job.
