this is not about talking about how good he will be. this is about talking about what style of WR he is. This 14 you speak of WAS a possession WR. and 14 won ROY, then has been hurt ever since. he didn't do too bad when he was healthy.
Don't know if you seen the free agent market in the WR category, it's pretty gruesome. When Drew Bennett is your #1 choice, you're in trouble. He's not a bad receiver, but the Saints won't overpay for that dude. Patrick Crayton and Bobby Wade are the next 2 decent options. Saints may elect to get one of these as they won't require big bucks and are both promising receivers. Wade is a good option as a kick returner, and beerman is a FA, so we may take care of 2 problems with 1 player. That would be sweet.
Wade and Bennett both play for the Titans. And Young needs all the receivers he can get, so it will be interesting to see if they resign either or both of them. If that's the case and Crayton signs with Dallas, then the free agent market for wideouts is basically nonexistent.
Drafting Bowe wouldn't be the worst thing. Assuming Horn is gone, Colston would be the go to guy and Bowe would play opposite him. Henderson is usually on their to stretch the field, but when he does get open Brees hits him. Deuce and Reggie are praying they get Bowe, because suddenly those 5 yard runs to the outside turn in to 15 yarders or more :thumb:
IMO Bennett is a better receiver than Crayton. Bennett has some talent, its just the team he plays on. Bennett could make a very solid #2 receiver like he was when he played along side Mason.
Id say that depends on your teams needs. In the Saints case, Id probably say no. With Colston a solid #1 and with Henderson and Copper being solid WRs. The Saints probably need just a decent guy to throw in the mix. On the other hand Bennett would still be a lot of value. He is a big play WR who would bring consistentcy, something both Henderson and Copper lack.
