I'm not certain this is a real image. The ball and WBRZ may be photoshopped in. I saw it posted on Twitter on an account that I thought was legit; however, I can't seem to find it anyplace else. I'll leave it up to the site mods whether it should stay posted. I don't want to be guilty of posting a fake, and also don't want to pile on Boutte where it's not warranted.
It seemed at the time the pass wasn’t catchable. However it also seemed that Boutte ran the route lazily and didn’t make any effort. As I remember he wasn’t even looking for the ball.
The ball hit him in the arm as he was lazily running the route. If he twists at the waist to look back, it hits him right above the belt. At that point, I don't believe he cared anything about the outcome of the game.
When I was still working and running a crew of guys, I would tell them that I didn't care who they were; that if they came to work with a piss-poor attitude they would get sent home no matter how bad I needed them at work. Negativity breeds negativity and it is no different for a football team. It has no place there. What needs to happen is LSU needs to circle that date next year in Orlando for the rematch and use this loss as motivation. Reaction is a choice.
