Did you see the o-lineman that blew out his hammie running the 40? Hard to imagine a more useless piece of information than a lineman's 40 time. Didn't catch his name but probably will cost the poor guy a bunch of draft position. Also ridiculous how teams will let a good combine workout blind them to a mediocre player's mediocre tape.
Good point. I'm not saying you can't make it in the league at that height, but when you add all the other stuff - poor vertical, poor 40 time, poor attitude and a horrible teammate - that's a lot of red flags to gamble a pick on. I don't even know if I would offer a FA contract to him because players like him can become a cancer and bring down the rest of the team.
Largest hand measurement in combine history: Jim Druckenmiller Fastest 40: John Ross Bench press: Justin Ernest Vertical: Gerald Sensabaugh Who??? Exactly.
Interesting, but I don't think that will help Boutte because their are miles of tape showing his pouting on the sidelines, running routes at half speed and dropping just about everything thrown to him.
Boutte is one strange dude. He did not try to improve on any of his numbers yesterday. I wonder if he ever fully recovered from his injury a couple of years ago.
We have the benefit of a lifetime of experiences. Young kid with money and hoping to get more. He just thinks differently. Maybe his folks aren’t available to give good advice like I had when I was that age….
I think Boutte is like a lot of these elite athletes that get pampered beginning in middle school and they begin to think they are untouchable. Clearly, Boutte has talent but he won't be the first talented athlete to fall on his face because of bad advice or an over-inflated ego that was never put in check!
