I agree. After a game like last week's, the two teams tend to head in different directions. ORE ST has lost all confidence, and if you saw the game . . . they were dead tired. Boise ST had something to prove. Let's not forget that Boise St also holds the current longest win streak (both overall and at home). I know Boise ST "sucks", but it takes something to win 13 games in a row (luck, guts, and execution of the game plan). ORE ST was beaten by a nonBCS school that has been working toward this win for the last 4 years. Last year, Boise St lost to ORE ST by 2 points at the end of the game. So, I doubt last night's game is any indication of what we can expect from LSU today.
I disagree, OSU didn't catch our team napping. LSU played a hard game, but lets face it....we were breaking in new receivers and qbs. A drop off from last season is expected under those conditions, but to say LSU was "napping", is an inaccurate statement.
NAPPING????!!! LSU???!!! WHAT???!!!HOW CAN THIS BE???!!!It's Saban's fault, by God! Let's string him up. Enough of these close wins. We are LSU. We are the almighty. We should steamroll every opponent with the temerity to show up in Tiger Stadium and try to take on the Mighty Tigers. Revolt...Revolution...WE WILL NOT STAND FOR IT!!!FIRE THE BASTARD!!! :dis: :dis: :dis:
Is it just me or does SabanFan always take things to the extreme? I know it's hard for you to believe, but LSU WAS NOT NAPPING and nobody said anything about firing Saban.
I take things to the extreme? Guys like FT are ready to chunk the entire coaching staff if we dare to allow ASU to even stay on the field with us. Others have been bitching about the play calling and personnel decisions all week as though Saban and Fisher haven't done enough to convince them that he knows WTF he's doing. I will respond to all who act like LSU is the only program in the nation worthy of anything. Last week's little dose of reality is not enough to humble some people. They need to be called out. If I get under your skin, tough sh!t. You can always use your ignore function. I used to live in Cecilia and was a big Bulldog fan. Jim Waguespack took them to the Dome 3 times and won a state championship by going 15-0 and beating Evangel, St. James and Karr in the process. You know what they did in Cecilia? Ran him off because he only won one of those Dome trips. I'm no longer a follower of the Bulldogs because I cannot stand to hang with those idiots. Some here remind me a lot of those fans. Even if we go 9-2, 8-3, 7-5 or whatever this year, I will deal with it in a mature manner. We won it all last year and they can never take that away. It's unrealistic to think we can do it over and over again. Enjoy the team and quit acting like it's the only thing in the world that matters. (By the way, my venom here is only directed at 3 or 4 people).
Won the Nationtional Championship is certainly not good enough anymore. I wonder if Finghting Tiger would accept a coaching position at LSU. Skip may have to pay him $1 more than c. Saban since he knows so much more.
Not that I have to explain where I stand, but this is where I stand on the situation. Saban was not to blame for last Saturday's performance, and I don't think I'll ever call for his head cause he clearly knows what he's doing. Last Saturday we were breaking in almot a whole new offense. It's not gonna be easy to run the scoreboard up when half your offense has had little to no collegiate experience. I don't blame the coaches and I don't know if I necessarily blame the players. To a certain extent, we have a different team this year. We lost a lot of key players, it's not gonna go as smooth as our 2003 nationl championship year. It's gonna take some time for the offense to start clicking and last Saturday was just an example of that. It's expected. I do agree that some posters around here were WAY too cocky before the season even started (even speakinig of a repeat without even seeing LSU play a down) Most of us know that this kind of talk is for the birds and is best ignored. Give this team time, they'll be fine. (especially with Saban at the helm) :geaux:
The field definately made a difference, but OSU is still not a bad team. Good coach, good QB, talented players....it is not a surprise the game was close.
Sept 18 we will learn what LSU has Sept. 18 at Auburn that is the game that will tell us where this (LSU)team is heading . Georgia is there today they have to make the effort to stay in the Top !0.
