Thank you thank you thank you. I noticed that Peabody did not by into a theory earlier in this post and that wet field bull**** is one I have to pass on. The wet field did not have a thing to do with ...Oh well bring on the indians.
The wet field didn't have a thing to do with it???? Boise state runners beat OSU to the outside every time. End arounds, pitches, sweeps. JV is better than Boise state's RB. Skyler, Bowe, Early, X are faster than Boise st.'s WR's. Hence, in dry conditions we beat OSU to the outside. Hence, field conditions did make a difference.
:dis: as a team, one of our advantages is our speed. considering that, we lost a lot more of our advantage last saturday than oregon st did. now, im not saying that the QB/passing game wasnt bad almost throughout, nor am i saying that the offensive game plan was sufficient. boise st had a new QB so we dont have an argument there. but we did lose the edge in speed, which played a big part in almost costing us the game.
To quote Troy States coach after his win at Missouri: OSU caught us napping just like Florida did last year. Don't forget Florida was not great last year and it was the first or second game that Leake played. I could care less if OSU goes 0-11 this year. I am not going to worry unless we don't show up against ASU.
I don't agree. the emotional investment that OSU put into the LSU game was draining to them.I am not surprised they had a letdown, and like most letdowns they did well at first, probably became a little releived and got smoked from that point on. It happens year after year in college football. it happened chronically to LSU for years, play up or down to your opponent. OSU prepared for LSU for months, called it their biggest OOC game ever, lost it just barely and they were going to be ready the next week? the gameday guys called it last week and they were right IMO.
To statement one: Tenn. has TWO freshmen qbs that look like veterans. Both moved the team well in their FIRST game in front of some 100k people.
Lets look at stats. Anderson had 231 yards passing and three touchdowns and an INT. Well just look at the box score: OSU LSU RUSHES-YARDS (NET)............ 31-84 30-91 PASSING YDS (NET)............. 231 211 Well we know we ownded their rusher except for one miss tackle play. They did not score any rushing TD's against us, which is remarkable in a way. We also had 3 sacks for 18 yards, they had none. Now look at BS vs. OSU: passing OSU: 22/42 411 4 4 BSU: J Zabransky 20/34 225 3 1 J Carpenter 1/1 21 1 0 OSU BSU Net yards rushing 58 246(1 TD) Basically it was a shootout. BSU had an awesome running game, we didn't. But we held Anderson to half the yards. So all in all, our D did a great job for the first game and I think OS had us on TOP, so our D was obviously getting tired. And like someone pointed out, we left a lot of points on the board dropping at least two INT's for TD's. BS made those catches and took it to the house. No one seems to mention that if Jackson made his two field goals, there is no OT, and one of those equals Serna's missed three PAT's. Also, it's gotta be tough to open the season two straight games on the road against good teams, so there is probably a dropoff after a game like last week.
this is why i am not worried. the D will carry us if they can get at least 2 minutes to catch their breath. i would love to see these guys play on a dry surface.
Don't waste your wind on these guys trying to spell out the Obvious ... We'll see just what those LSU Tigers got under the hood today. OSU was smoked after a rough start by BSU ... they moiderd 'em ... why ... because OSU was beaten up by LSU and they didn't have any gas left to geaux, baby Wanna make some easy green ... bet against teams this year the week after they play LSU
