Blue crabs

    Oh got 9-10 nice blue cats too mixed in the white perch.

    Yeah I saw that hidden in the pics. The whole mess of everything was nice.

    Ran pots this morning. Comin back a little bit more. Got 8 dozen finally gettin enough to start putting up some meat for deer camp.

    Well some of them yes. Eating bout every 3rd one and splitting the rest between crab tater cakes, crab patties, and gumbo to eat daily and putting some up for deer season. Only have 2 gallons of picked meat so far need about 2 more then can just do whatever with it after that

    looks like almost all males,did you throw back the females?

    No not yet. They won't sponge till closer to October. But they are mostly males. Maybe 2 dozen of the almost 12 dozen were females

    Had a bad red tide low oxygen deal over here last few days hit the crabs hard. Ran pots this afternoon hoping for the best.....out of about 12 dozen only 31 crabs were alive. Damn upsetting dumping those big fine number 1s over board but nothing to do about it. Still not the worst of days....
