We LSU fans are certainly in a no-win situation here. I have an Irish last name, so that'll be enough for me to pull for the Irish. But it won't matter...Bama will win. I don't think I can watch it. Friday night, I ran into the father of one of my daughter's friends @ a restaurant. He's a Bama alum. He was wearing Alabama crimson and came to talk to me. I could not, would not offer a word about the SECCG. I wasn't about to wish his team good luck. The only funny thing is that we bought his daughter a ND t-shirt at the bookstore in South Bend over the summer when we toured the campus. I wonder if he'll let her wear it over the next month?
All I can say is Geaux Irish. I won't be watching on 1/7. I have a night-teaching gig at GW and I start that night. Funny, on this past 1/9, when my class started, I let my class out early so I get home and watch LSU. No reason to end class early this time around.
I really believe those of you who are pulling for the SEC streak to continue will greatly, greatly regret it the minute the clock hits triple 0's. To think ND pulling out a close game will "deligitimize" the SEC dominance is, to me, preposterous. Are the Patriots not "legit" b/c the Giants beat them in a SB?..and that happened twice! No. Just a bad match-up for the Pats. Ya'll just wait for the Bama fans if they win another one here and make it back-to-back AND three out of four. We will NEVER hear the end of it. Do ya'll really want Bama to get more cyrstals than us? This would give Bama 2 losses on the year, just like we will end up with. No crystal, no dynasty, no back-to-back. How will those recruiting battles go? We fight for recruits directly with Bama. They'd be in the middle of a dynasty. I'm telling ya'll....it will be REALLY BAD REALLY QUICK if Bama wins. Real bad!
This x2...it will be a sickening. Between the media and their fans, there will be no end to it. As bad as it is now, it will intensify even more.
That is a powerful argument ehusson80. My hate of ND is deep and long standing. However the points you make are compelling. Like LaSalle (I think) I hope there is a sinkhole in Miami that night.
ND is capable of beating this Bama team, which is one of the weaker Bama SEC Champ teams that you'll ever see.
Doesn't matter guys. The consensus is that Notre Dame is universally hated. It may be the only thing the SEC fan bases can ultimately agree on when it comes to the Crimson Tide.
