making fun of yourself like this is your first step. keep it up and i might start responding to you again. and having me respond to you is quite a treat. good luck.
Word is that Bush told Holden and Naggin to skip the middleman (or woman in this case) and report any problems directly to the white house...
Say what you will about Bush, without him pleading to the Governor and the mayor, the mandatory evacuation wouldn't have happened. W helped save the day and a lot of lives yet no one wants to talk about that. Our fine military did an unbelievable job rescuing those fine New Orleans residents, I've never seen such a big operation done in a timely fashion once the troops got to New Orleans. Some of these troops could be some of the ones from Abu Grab, just a thought! Rudy Guliani and Gov Pataki was everywhere when 9-11 happened, a disaster, but I rarely see the mayor of NO and I never have seen the Governor. :dis:
i think i heard 30,000 were rescued via choppers before today. that is a staggering number thats hard to fathom given thats one to five per chopper at a time so kudos to all those involved. I hear choppers fly over continuously still...i suppose on their way to the PMAC. nonstop. bet those guys could use a little rest.
Props for that statement. My father-in-law is a dyed-in-the-wool Edwards Dem. The Edwards Dems supported Blanco, and she has faltered on every promise she made to those same Edwards Dems that got her elected. Not to worry, they won't make that same mistake again. Mitch may very well get the state dem support during the next election. Its quite unfortunate that Bobby didn't win because of the same people you just named. Those conservatives who have always voted dem. When will they wake up and figure out that today's dems are not yesterday's dems. :dis:
The ironic thing about Blanco is New Orleans is what put her in office.. Jindal won the rest of the state... it was the black vote in NOLA that put her over the top.. State elections will be interesting with the Dem. powerbase spread to the winds..
While you are correct in that Edith overwhelmingly won NO, what put her over the top was the rural vote that could/would not vote for a "foreigner," regardless of how good he would have been for the state. Edith or most any other dem would have carried NO no matter what. It was those "principled" voters that handed her the election.
Didnt Blanco a while back decide not to greet the President when he came to Louisiana . I think it was 3 or 4 months ago. I dont care if you are Republican or Democrat. As a Govenor you go greet the President when he comes to your state. If Blanco is the best Lousiana can do as a leader then something is very wrong. Hell i would vote for that crazy Carville before i would Blanco. At least he is decisive and knows politics.
